Privacy Policy

Last updated September 21, 2026

MultiHat Omniview is provided by Seonggeun Kim, operating as MultiHat. Contact us about privacy at sunkenkim@gmail.com.

The app and the server you choose

Omniview lets you view and control a computer from another device signed in to the same account on the same Omniview server. The iPhone and iPad app is a viewer; it does not share or remotely control the iPhone or iPad itself.

This policy covers the Omniview software distributed by MultiHat, this website and its downloads, and support correspondence. The website provides information and downloads; it is not an Omniview signaling server, and this offering does not include a MultiHat-managed remote desktop server.

The iPhone and iPad mobile app has no preconfigured server. You supply the address of a server operated by you, your organization, or another administrator. That operator receives and manages the account, device, and connection information sent to its server. Using the Omniview app does not give MultiHat access to an independently operated server. The software behavior below helps you understand those connections; the independent server operator's privacy and retention policies apply to its services.

Information used to provide the app

Accounts and sign-in

When you create an account or sign in, the app sends your email address and password to the selected server. The server stores an account identifier, normalized email address, account creation time, and a salted password hash. It uses these records to authenticate you and associate your devices. The server stores a password hash rather than your original password.

Device registration

The server stores a generated device identifier, your chosen device name, platform, viewer or host role, screen and input capabilities, registration time, and last-seen time. Device records are linked to your account and shown to other devices signed in to that account so that you can find and connect to them.

Local sign-in information

The mobile app stores the selected server address, sign-in token, device identifier and name, and last-used email in its local WebView storage. This lets the app remember its configuration and resume sign-in. The app does not add a separate encryption layer to that mobile local storage. The desktop app stores its saved sign-in token using operating-system credential encryption when available and reports when encrypted storage is unavailable.

Connections and operational records

The server processes authentication, online status, connection requests, and WebRTC connection setup information. Connection setup can include network addresses. Server logs can include timestamps, account or device identifiers, connection events, errors, and IP addresses. These records support operation and troubleshooting. The desktop host also writes a local session log on the host computer.

Remote screens and keyboard input

During a remote session, the viewer receives the host computer's screen. When control is enabled, the host receives the viewer's pointer and keyboard input. The host asks for approval unless its owner has explicitly enabled unattended access for the connecting device.

Remote video and input use a WebRTC connection between the participating devices. If a direct connection cannot be established, a configured TURN relay may forward the encrypted traffic. The Omniview signaling server's account and device store does not record remote video or the text you type. The host and viewer necessarily receive the screen or input required for the session.

Network services, website visits, and support

Network discovery services (STUN) help devices find a connection route. Relay services (TURN), when configured, help connect devices on restrictive networks. These services receive connection-related network information. Omniview's default server configuration uses Google's STUN service; server administrators can change the discovery services or configure a relay. Ask the operator of your selected server which network services it uses.

The website and installer files provided on the same domain are hosted on Vercel. Website and download requests send technical information such as your IP address, browser and request information, requested resource, and request time to the hosting service so it can deliver pages and files and maintain the service. Cloudflare provides the domain's DNS service and processes the DNS queries needed to locate the website. We use these services to make the site available and address technical or security issues.

Support email uses Google's Gmail service. If you email sunkenkim@gmail.com, your email address, message, and attachments are processed through email services and received in our support mailbox. We use the information you provide to investigate and respond to your request. Do not send passwords, sign-in tokens, private keys, or private screen contents that are not needed to explain the issue.

For information about these providers' processing, see the Vercel Privacy Notice, Cloudflare Privacy Policy, and Google Privacy Policy. Their infrastructure may process information in countries other than your own.

The Omniview mobile app does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. This website does not use analytics scripts or load external fonts. When you change the website language, your preference is saved in your browser's local storage. This preference is not sent to an Omniview server, and the website does not use analytics cookies. Hosting, DNS, and email services still process the technical or correspondence information described above. An independent Omniview server's processing is separate from MultiHat's website and support services.

Security

The iPhone and iPad mobile app requires an HTTPS server address and uses secure WebSocket signaling. WebRTC encrypts remote video and data-channel traffic in transit. These protections do not mean that server account records, operational logs, or mobile local storage are separately encrypted by Omniview. Storage protection and access controls on independently operated servers are managed by their operators.

Retention and account deletion

Omniview account and device-registration records remain on the selected server until removed. The server software does not automatically expire those records based on age. A sign-in token's expiry is separate from account deletion.

In the iPhone or iPad mobile app, version 0.3.8 or later, open Account → Delete account…, enter your current password, acknowledge the permanent deletion, and choose Delete account permanently. A compatible server removes your account and its registered devices from its active data store and invalidates the account's sign-in credentials. The requesting app clears its saved sign-in token, email, trust entries, and former device identity. If your server needs an update, contact its administrator. These menu instructions apply to the iPhone and iPad mobile app.

Account deletion does not delete files from your computer or automatically erase historical operational logs, desktop session logs, support emails, or backups. An independent server's operator controls its records and backups; the desktop host's local session log is held on that computer. Contact the responsible operator about those records.

MultiHat retains support correspondence and technical records only as needed to respond to support requests, resolve security or technical issues, and meet legal obligations. Retention can therefore vary with the purpose and nature of the record. You can request deletion of information you provided to MultiHat by emailing sunkenkim@gmail.com. Provider-held operational records are also subject to the relevant provider's processing and retention practices.

Sign out ends this app's current session and removes its saved sign-in token; it does not delete the account. Forget removes a device registration; a device that still has valid credentials can register again. Uninstalling the mobile app does not delete its server account.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can disconnect a remote session, turn off remote input, disable hosting on the computer, revoke a trusted device's unattended access, sign out, or delete your account on a compatible server. Only enable unattended access for devices you trust.

For questions or requests about access, correction, or deletion of information handled by MultiHat, email sunkenkim@gmail.com. Include enough information to identify the relevant account or correspondence without sending your password. For an independently operated Omniview server, direct the request to that server's operator; MultiHat may not be able to access or change its records.
